Councillor Frank Rust
A message from the Dance Section
It is with great sadness that we have to report that Frank Rust, Festival Chairman for many years and Rushmoor Mayor elect, died in March from Coronavirus. No doubt many of you will remember him at the Dance Festival doing his stint in the door at the weekend and officiating at the closing presentations. He was not only an excellent chairman but also happy to roll up his sleeves and get down to (amongst other tasks) shifting chairs and tables. He will be very sadly missed. A new chairman will be elected at the AGM on 16th November 2020.
A message from the Piano Section
We are saddened to report that our Festival Chairman Frank Peter Rust passed away in March owing to the Coronavirus.
Frank was a lively and enthusiastic supporter of the Piano Section. We have fond memories of him helping out on festival days. If time allowed he would stay a while to watch the performances of aspiring pianists. Frank looked forward to giving a speech at the end of the Winners' Concert in his own unique style. With his anecdotes and fun sense of humour he was always popular with the audience.
His passing is our loss.
